Four weeks before: |
- Send invitations to all of your single as well as not single friends inviting them to your party
- Start looking for Valentine's Day decorations
Balloons are a great way to decorate the room. Buy a bunch of balloons and put them all over the place. Use red satin sheets and red garland as well. Put cut-out hearts all over the walls.

Three weeks before: |
- Make a list of those who took your invitation so that you know how many people are going to come
- Buy enough plastic plates, cups, forks, spoons, etc. if you don't want to wash the dishes afterwards.
- Buy Valentine's gifts to present to your guests.
- Inform your neighbors that you make the party at home, and invite them if they deserve it.
- Hire a DJ or make up your own CDs (including romantic mood CDs) as music background for your party

Two weeks before: |
- Buy non-perishable food and drinks to your guests' taste as much as possible.
- Empty your fridge and extra space so that have place to store your party food and drinks.

One week before: |
- Buy candles in a variety of shapes, colors and sizes.
- Charge your camera or camcorder.
- Make sure you have enough film or tape.
- Phone or email those guests who didn't confirm their coming.
- Plan a few party games or funny activities
Example: Buy a box of hearts, make a list of things like 'a kiss' or 'a hug' your guests can "buy" with the hearts. Share hearts with your guests or make them do something to win the hearts.

One day before: |
- Hide valuable or breakable objects
- Cook something special if you want to
- Clean up and decorate the room
- Make sure you have enough chairs
- Rent a couple of romantic movies just in case.

On Valentine's Day: |
- Lay out food, drinks, cups and plates.
- Relax and enjoy your party!
