  TESTIMONIALS
"...This is an excellent program. I'm so glad that I stumbled on to this when researching for task management programs. Very low learning curv, quite flexible, and the price is right. Tried at least 20 other programs, either too complicated, too expensive, or poor documentation..."

  • Arrange your home’s shelter. Select a safe premise within your house where all your family can hide together during a tornado. Train your household members to be ready for moving there once a disaster warning is announced. These shelters are usually organized in:
    • Basements;
    • Storm cellar;
    • Any other interior rooms on the lowest floor without windows;
  • Prepare a disaster kit containing at least the following essentials (it shouldn’t be too heavy):
    • First aid items including essential and specific medications;
    • Canned foods with a can opener, and some other non-perishable foods;
    • Clean bottled water;
    • A battery-powered radio, flashlight, and extra batteries;
    • Candles and matches;
    • Sturdy shoes and work gloves;
    • Some cash;
  • Every storm has a chance to result into a destructive tornado. Once a probability of a tornado is officially announced, stay listening attentively to the radio to be in touch with recent emergency warnings. There are two main types of tornado warnings:
    • A tornado watch is announced when the weather provides conditions that are favorable for development of tornados. You need to stay on the alert and in touch with local authorities for further advisories;
    • A tornado warning means that a real tornado has been detected. These warnings normally include information on the storm’s location, direction and speed;
    • Many communities use outdoor warning systems, such as sirens. You have to know your local warning system and obey local emergency steps, such as urgent evacuation;
  • Also keep an eye on what is happening outside as you can notice some evidences of a severe storm coming up:
    • A dark, usually greenish sky;
    • A wall cloud;
    • A funnel cloud;
    • Large hail may appear;
    • A loud roaring noice can be heard (it may sound like a freight train approaching);
    • A moving cloud of debris can anticipate a tornado (even if its funnel is not visible yet);
    • Right before a tornado hits, the wind may disappear and the air may become very still;
  • Once there are disaster forecasts and warnings it is strongly recommended to move in and safely encase your lawn furniture, outdoor devices and instruments, trash cans, hanging plants or other moveable items that can be easily picked up by ...
