St. Patrick's Day Checklist

1. Some suggestions for creating party menu:

• Decorate tables with four leaf clovers made out of green cardboard. Four leaf clovers can be also hung down from the ceiling and doorways.
• Fill all rooms in your house with green pot plants and throw a green coverlet over your sofa.
• Use green napkins or green napkin rings to make tables more colorful and funny.

3. Costumes

• The main idea is to wear green for celebrating the holiday. You can wear pointy hats and funny shoes with the toes curled up.
• If you want to be elegant, you can wear your favorite evening dress decorated with green tapes.
• You can wear glowing green jewelry. You can use face cosmetic to paint shamrocks on your cheeks and forehead.

4. Music:

• Traditionally people listen to Irish folk music. Some people like the following songs: "Finnegan's Wake", "Molly Malone", "Whiskey in the Jar", "The Wild Rover", "Danny Boy". You may choose any songs that you and your guests like most of all.

• Limerick Competition: this is an activity that most Irish people like doing. Here's what you need to do: give each person a sheet of paper and a pen and then ask them to write a limerick. You may give them some party ideas for topics like four leaf clover, leprechauns, dragons etc. After limericks are written, ask the 'authors' to read their work.
• Talent quests: make up some talent quests with questions based on Irish history. You may choose the following questions: 'What effect will be if a person kisses the Blarney Stone'? 'What is a Banshee'? 'Why do we hardly find snakes in Ireland?' 'What a Shillelagh is used for'?
• Pot of gold toss: this competition assumes that each guest has three chances to get gold chocolate coins in the pot of gold. The person who gets all 3 coins in wins a prize at the end. For this game you will need the following ingredients: gold spray paint and paint brush, plastic tub, gold chocolate coins.
• Bursting the balloon: Gather all guests in one room. Divide your guests into two equal teams and form two queues. One team gets a green balloon and the other one gets an orange balloon. Place two unpadded chairs at the end of the room – each chair will be dedicated to one of the teams. On a signal the first persons in the queues start blowing up their balloons, then tie the balloons, and run to the dedicated chairs. .....
