  1. Analyzing Environment Requirements.
    • Begin to analyze the environment your project will operate in.
    • Identify what changes and updates are required for your project to be best fitted into the new environment.
    • Update all project documentation and papers respectively when the project is approved for migration.
    • Define and estimate a period of time during which your project will be idle (nonworking).
    • Ensure that the idle time period along with downtime won’t have a considerable effect to the project and its efficiency.
    • Identify performance requirements of the new environment and be sure your project meets those requirements.

    • Identify and define the migration process (why run it and what benefits to gain).
    • Define a list of tasks required to successfully complete the migration process.
    • Estimate the budget constraint of the process and then develop a migration budget sheet.
    • Estimate how much time the process should take and then develop a migration schedule.
    • Identify how many human, monetary, material and non-material resources will be required to complete and test the process.
