1. Expertise and Manpower:

  • Make sure there is a roster of workforce engagement throughout the project’s lifecycle;
  • Make sure the project is a fully staffed: specialists of all necessary skills and expertise are engaged, so all project roles and positions are filled;
  • Make sure all questions related to engaging specialists on a full-time or part-time basis are resolved, so there is enough of working hours scheduled to cover different tasks;

  • Make sure representatives of the customer are engaged on regular basis, so conception of customer engagement is consistently maintained and no important decisions can be made without being verified by the customer representatives;
  • Make sure the Customer engagement is properly organized:
    • Customer feedback on different aspects is continually collected and analyzed;
    • Problems and questions are reported to customers in time to get their input;
    • Customer is represented by competent people who can provide valuable input;

Let’s say in Scrum methodology the customer may affect the project only at fixed points of iterative workflow;

3. Technologies and Resources:

  • Make sure that all necessary resources will be engaged on all levels of project execution:
    • There is a Resource Plan explaining why certain resources are required, in what amount and of what quality, including a schedule of how resources are demanded in time;
    • All necessary internal resources are requested beforehand and positive responses on their availability and readiness are received;
    • All external project resources are contracted beforehand, so private companies providing them are committed to serve your schedule and mission;
