Business Readiness Checklist This Business Readiness Checklist is designed for every businessman to help him with starting up a new enterprise. The coverage of this checklist refers to the stage of pre-launch organization and comprises matters which need to be checked before the deploying your full-scale business activity: readiness of your business location, equipment, personnel, etc.

1. Business Location Readiness:

  • Make sure that the site for your enterprise suits your business’s needs;
  • Make sure that the building you have selected is appropriately equipped and serviced;
  • Make sure you have enough of space to enable certain business extension;
  • Make sure your business location is convenient enough for employees to get there (if some problems exist, make sure to organize appropriate transportation solution);

  • Make sure you have a procedure and system for registering incomes and expenses;
  • Make sure you have a procedure and system to control business inventory;
  • Make sure you have a qualified bookkeeper to cope with payroll, tax, and payment records;
  • Make sure you know how to handle financial statements needed;
  • Make sure that legal structure of your business is clearly defined and documented;
  • Make sure you have all necessary legal support for your activities (licenses, permits, etc);
  • Make sure you know the state regulations for your type of business;
  • Make sure you have all necessary legal protection for your intellectual property;
  • Make sure you have a trusted legal expert who can support your business once required;

4. Readiness of Personnel:

  • Make sure that all titles and roles in the staff are clearly determined;
  • Make sure that proper personnel are recruited and ready to work;
  • Make sure that all key business positions are identified and filled with appropriate persons;
  • Make sure that every worker who needs to be additionally trained has been trained;
  • Make sure that all personnel management policies have been established;
  • Make sure you are ready to provide proper benefits package and insurance coverage;
  • Make sure you have proper employee recruitment and retention policies;
  • Make sure you have the performance appraisal system;

5. Readiness of Regulations and Procedures:

  • Make sure you have your Organizational Chart ready and approved by all shareholders;
  • Make sure you have clear procedures on the major and secondary workflow operations;
