Dear Sathyan,

Could you please check how much CPU VIP Organizer utilize when:
1. Only VIP Organizer is running
2. Other program utilize CPU as well

Actuually when there are idle processes and no other programs are actively used VIP Organizer can untilize more, while when CPU is required for running other applications it should take less.

Yes, you can import the titles of the tasks from such applications as MS Excel, MS Word, etc.

1. Select/Highlight the names of the tasks
2. Copy the names of the tasks (ex.: CTRL + C)
3. Start VIP Team To Do List
4. Go to menu Tasks
5. Select 'Paste new tasks' option

You can do the following:
- Double click on the headers of the bars

or

- Delete DSK files: If you have VIP Organizer
1. Close the application.
2. Go to: C:\Program Files\VIP Quality Software\VIP Organizer\dsk and delete all files in dsk folder (but don't delete the folder itself).
3. Restart the VIP Organizer.

Dear Rowan,

The first button in the top right hand corner of the panel means minimizing/muximizing the panel.

The second button in the top right hand corner of the panel means hiding/showing the panel. If you select it, the panel will hide and it will appear only when you move the mouse cursor to the hidden area.

The third button in the top right hand corner of the panel means closing the panel. Probably you clicked on it and the panel closed. To display it again you need to go to menu View, select option Panels and activate it again.

Regards,
Serge

Dear Rowan,

You can leave some columns blank like ID, Date Completed, etc., but you need to preserve the order of the format. The format is the following:

"id","name","priority","due_date","estimated_time","actual_time","done","category","reminder_datetime","reminder_file","complete","daysLeft","status","reminder_msgbox","link_file","note","note_rtf","date_created","date_opened","date_modified","date_completed"

So you will have something like this:

"","Send news","High","2007-01-23 15:10:00","0","0","False","Project","","","0","-254","Created","True","","","{\rtf1\ansi\deff0{\fonttbl{\f0\fnil MS Sans Serif;}}
\viewkind4\uc1\pard\lang1049\f0\fs16\par}","2006-11-15 09:41:29","2006-11-15 09:41:29","2007-01-23 14:52:31","2006-11-15 09:41:29"

Regards,
Serge

Dear Bob Llewellyn,

After we received a lot of requests from VIP Team To Do List users for sharing the database interactively, we developed the product that allows to do this and released it in 2006.

This product is called VIP Task Manager and allows multiple users to access the same database simultaneously. You can learn more and download VIP Task Manager at product's website:

http://www.taskmanagementsoft.com/

If you have any questions about setting up and using the program don't hesitate to contact support department.

First of all, thank you for your suggestions.

i. it would be great (but not essential), if the Organizer supported customizable work flows

This feature is implemented in VIP Task Manager. We will think if it should be added to VIP Organizer (or it is better to develop personal version of VIPTask Manager)

Quote
ii. it would be great if the Organizer supported file attachments (actual attachments, not references via URL) to tasks

The same answer as in the question above: VIP Task Manager already features this function.

Quote
iii. it would be a huge productivity and usability improvement if the Organizer supported creating tasks by dropping items into the Organizer: drop a word document for example, and a task gets created that takes its title from the document's title, and attaches the file. Drop any Outlook item (calendar item, task, email, contact, ...) and the "best fit" task gets created, etc. To me, task management is a multi-step process. The first, that of task creation, needs to happen very quickly when there is no time, and no immediate need, to refine that task straight-away. Main thing is that the "gosh this also needs doing" thought is captured.

iv. similar, and in addition to (iii), an optional shell context menu item (Create Organizer task from this...) would be nice (but not essential)

Could you please post this feature as a separate topic in Feature request section of this forum. We need to know other users opinion as there is so much to be done in the area of 'import'.

v. finally, the most unfortunate shortcoming of all: I find it essential that tasks can be related to each other, at least in a 1:1 basis, ideally in an N:M relationship. Tasks depend on each other, one task might gate another, two tasks together might gate a third, etc. This is an important reflection of what real-life tasks really are. I am surprised to find the tool doesn't support this, and can only hope that a future version might.

I see, but how exactly would you like the program to show this relationship, ex.: simply a text that tells that this task relates to that task, or possibility to set a link to the related task, or something else?
