Hi all,
I am new used of VIP Team to do list. I have created a categories and also created tasks which are displayed under Categgories Bar on the right side,but some categories within which even some tasks have been created are not displayed under Tasks list and Resource baron the left side, can anyone tell me how to solve this problems.

When I restart my computer, I will be prompted for my password but the program does not load. In my Notification bar (bottom-right corner of my screen where the time is located), a white box appears in place of the program's proper icon. Double-clicking on the white box does nothing. One time I was able to right-click the box and I was able to choose to "restore" the program but nothing happened.

If I re-install the program it will work again ... until I restart my computer next.

PROBLEM SOLVED -- SMTP Port settings negatively affected the program. Ensure that you indicate the proper SMTP settings!

I am leading a software test department & sending them automatic emails using VIP team todo.
However I do not want the "FINAL" (actual) due date to appear on their emails -instead I need a date before then to be used as the delivery date to allow a factor of safety -and motivation.
How can I achieve this in Team todo?
It is the only remaining feature in this software missing for me -and the full blown task manager software would be overkill for my needs (I think it has an additional "finish date" field that can be used.
Is there any way this can be accomplished in team todo?

just downloaded the eval vip simple to do list....like it a lot. looking for a way to get off outlook and think that this might do the trick for task management. However, the mouse middle scroll wheel doesn't work in the program. It is a hassle to locate the scroll bar all the time. I have 250 tasks in about 20 categories so would use the scroll a lot. Is there any known fix/tweak?

I've noticed that when trying to change the category for a task using the right mouse-click while positioned on the task, the box that come up and displays the current category list is not sorted in any specific order and I see no way to sort it. Would it be possible to default the drop-down box to display the categories in the same order the user has set them up? It's very hard to locate individual categories when they are all mixed up and if they were in the same order, at least the user would be able to find the category they need more quickly.

I have finished an evaluation and loved the product. However, without a shared database I find the product unusable in a team environment. I love the simplicity of the product and found Task manager (both versions) to complicated for our needs (more project based and not task based). Hello,

I've done quite a bit of searching to find the right software to meet our needs and finally came across VIP Team To Do List. It is close to being perfect for what we need.

The only drawback that I can see is that it will not allow simultaneous access. Our non-profit association is small (2 employees to be exact!). I would like to be able to share the database simultaneously with my assistant. I know that VIP Task Manager has this functionality built in but to be quite honest, it is overkill for what we need. I have trialed both programs. I like the simplicity and features available in VIP Team To Do List and do not wish to use something more complicated.

I would be willing to pay more for the software to have this one extra feature built in. Is this something that you would consider?

I am currently using the trial version and wish to make a purchase in the very near future.

I am evaluating your product. It covers all my needs except two. for every todo item, I do a detailed follow-up of its progress. I do this by adding text to comment on a regular basis. example:

task: arrange appointment with plumber
comment:
16/12 17:00 called him. no answer
17/12 12:00 his wife answers. left a message
18/12 08:30 called back since he didn't answer. arranged appointment for next friday

To do his I have to add the timestamp (date and time) manually each time. It would be very helpful to have an automatic timestamp.

Secondly, I'd like to have a shortcut key to save a comment (f.e. ctrl-enter) in order to avoid having to click on the save icon.

The Cost of the task is the sum of all sub-task.

Saw that someone had requested task templates in 2006. Just new to VIP organizer and it fits my work well...It would be great to have the ability to create task templates so I don't have to copy and paste the same set of tasks for every category I open.. I am now doing it the long way -- created a category with calls TASKS and i copy and paste this set each and every time to every file I open.

Maybe someone has an easier way of doing this?!

Would also be great if rows/tasks can be color coded or font colors change when it is completed (as an alternative to being struck out).

I created several tasks and closed them. I found that the tasks were deleted from "VIP Team ToDo List", v 2.9.1.

How can I keep those closed tasks? (I often need to account for my time and destroying the completed Tasks destroys the very history I need to keep.)

I'm new to VIP To Do List and wonder if it has a "stopwatch" or time-tracker feature.

For example, suppose I start a Task today, work on it for 20 minutes, move on to another task, and then go back to the original task for another 30 minutes. Can VIP show that, today, I spent 50 (= 20 + 30) minutes on that task? And, if I spend an hour on that task the next day it should show 110 minutes (=60+50). The time will continue to accumulate until I press a Task "Reset timer" button.

Can I have Taskmanager pro on our server for office team to use and on my laptop so I can carry all current projects with me while out of office. This would allow me to see projects while on road without remote access to server even thoug they would only be as up to date as my last restore. When I return then update or restore the current server database and project status to my laptop files. Then logon to server with laptop to use as a user on server database on days I am in office.
