Views: 371Topic:: «Future dates» on forum: Feature Requests (VIP To Do List Line)
#1
I often have a To Do item that needs to be scheduled for a future date -- say, something I need to do on next September 15th. It would be a great addition if these items could be added with a future implementation date so they don't clog up the task list between now and then. Then add a filter "Don't show future tasks" or something like that. Make sense?

Dear Brooks Jensen,

If I understand you right, you want to set the definite date (for example: 15.09.2008) on the definite task and you don't want to see it on your task list now. If it is so, you can do the following:

1. While creating this definite task in "Due Date" option, check on "Once" button and chose (15.09.2008).
2. In the "Filters bar", chose "Due Date", check on "Relative" button and set the date (for example: this week or this month). Click Ok.
2. In the "Filters bar" click on the "save filter as" button.
3. Choose "New".
4. Enter the name of this filter (for example: tasks of this week, so you will see only tasks of this week or of this month and you won't see tasks which are planned to be done on (15.09.2008).
5. Click Ok.

Well, this works, but it's a bit clunky compared to a "start date". At least I can get the information. Thanks for the idea.

Sort of related, would it be possibel to have a filter that is "TODAY PLUS X DAYS" so I could look at the due dates that are always relative to today plus a specified number of days?

[/QUOTE]We also think that this feature is important and I have already added this feature to our feature request list. It will be developed and added to our product in one of the next updates.
