If I got it right you need the software product which allows multiple users to access the common database simultaneously to plan, track and report tasks.

We have 2 products for team collaboration:
1. VIP Team To Do List allows planning tasks for team members and sending to do lists to team members by email.
2. VIP Task Manager allows both sending tasks by email and multi-user simultaneous access (actually this product was developed on request of VIP Team To Do List users who wanted to share the database in real time).

VIP Task Manager has 2 editions: Standard and Professional. Standard is more like VIP Team To Do List in simplicity, while Professional has more advanced features.

Thank you very much for the sound criticism. Yes, you are totally right: adding more icons is a trivial thing in terms of programming and it wouldn’t take so long to add this feature if not the following reasons:

1. We have 2 product lines: 1) To Do List Line (VIP Simple To Do List, VIP Organizer and VIP Team To Do List) and 2) Task Management Line (VIP Task Manager Standard and VIP Task Manager Professional). Task Management Line was newer and it took more time and resources than To Do List Line for taking it to appropriate level. Of course, I believe this is not excuse for you, still it is an objective reason.

2. In 2008 we started development of the new platform (.NET) and plan to move both product lines to this new platform. It will help us to synchronize updating of 2 lines and develop much more good features than old platform (DELPHI) allowed.

I would like to say "tank you" and "sorry". It seems you really like our product (otherwise you wouldn’t spend your time to writ to us) while we failed your expectations in a way. I hope we will finish developing the new platform this year and move VIP Organizer to it for adding all the good features our users suggested so far and surely such a useful feature as “category icons”.

Thank you for the suggestion, but we would preffer to allow users to add their own icons rather than adding 5-6 more, because each user has his own categories.

Our another program VIP Task Manager Professional allows to create custom fields of various types (including Currency for the Price field).

Also the values of tasks price can be aggregated on the task group level (upper tasks level)

Task Templates are implemented in our another product VIP Task Manager http://www.taskmanagementsoft.com/

There are 2 ways of duplicating templates:
1. You can duplicate a selected Template into required Task Group
2. You can insert a required Template into a selected Task Group

Both methods allow to automatically change Start or Finish dates of tasks from your template.

Yes, this is a long requested feature and I hope it will be added in the next update (at least I will remind about it to the product manager often when the next update is developed). Earlier this feature was postponed because it had a little priority and useful features like "recurring Tasks" should be added first. Now I think it is much more likely to be added.

This is hardly can be done in VIP Team To Do List because it doesn't have Custom Fields. I mean there is no field "the day before the due date" in VIP Team To Do List.

However, you can do this in VIP Task Manager Professional (http://www.taskmanagementsoft.com/) that features Custom Fields. You can create a field that will automatically calculate the date before the due date and allow the program to include custom fields section into the emails.

Well we double checked this and couldn't repeat it. If we select a task on task list or left click on Notes panel entry field it allows us to scroll.

Also there were no reports on this issue before so it is hard to imagine what can lead to this behaviour. Could you please try to reinstall the product and see if it repeats? Could you please install VIP Organizer and see if it repeats?

Actually mouse middle scroll wheel should work. Probably you don't set focus on task grid (for example you worked with Category bar and focus remained there). Please left click on any task in the list and try to scroll the wheel.

Well, it's sad, becuse the only obvious reason for this which was added in March, was removed in this update. Again, it would be much easier to fix if we could reproduce it. For example, my Organizer takes 00 - 07 CPU.

Yes, you are right, there is no simple way to turn a trask into a category. I added your request to the list. Thank you for suggestion.

The first button in the top right hand corner of the panel means minimizing/muximizing the panel.

The second button in the top right hand corner of the panel means hiding/showing the panel. If you select it, the panel will hide and it will appear only when you move the mouse cursor to the hidden area.

The third button in the top right hand corner of the panel means closing the panel. Probably you clicked on it and the panel closed. To display it again you need to go to menu View, select option Panels and activate it again.

"VIP Team To Do" and "VIP Task Manager" have different database types, however they can share the same resources. Mind that at the moment it is only "one way sharing", i.e. you can export tasks from VIP Team To Do List to VIP Task Manager, but you can not export tasks from VIP Task Manager to VIP Team To Do List.

For example, you created task 1 assigned to resource A. When you export task 1 to VIP Task Manager for the first time, VIP Task Manager imports the task 1 and creates resource A. Then you created task 2 assigned to resource A. When you export task 2 to VIP Task Manager, VIP Task Manager imports the task 2 and assignes it to already created resource A.

"VIP Team To Do" and "VIP Task Manager" are stand alone applications. They can work on the same computer, but, of course, separately. Though some of our customers use them both because they can import tasks to VIP Task Manager from VIP Team To Do List. So they install VIP Team To Do List on their Laptop or home PC and then import tasks they created at home or in business trip to VIP Task Manager.

Also if server application of VIP Task Manager is installed on server ccomputer with outer/static IP adress, there is a possibility to connect to the database via Internet or VPN connection.
